If interested follow our step by step instructions on how to make candy flowers for candy bouquets.

First of all be patient when starting candy decorations. As the first step is the hardest choose simpler flower designs and slowly proceed to more complicated ones. This strategy will also give you a sense of achievement as you succeed. Also, consider doing the candy flowers in a company - from one hand it is a wonderful occasion for a get-together and, from the other, the work will be done faster.

Making candy flowers consists of making flower central piece, petals, stems and leaves. Normally we add a candy as a flower centerpiece. Best option for making the flower center are candies like assorted chewy tangy twisters (chewy candies), toffees, or hard candy butterscotch for the flowers. You may also try chocolate ones or those that you like the most.

As natural flowers you will need a container to put your candy flowers, thus you will need an elegant glass, vase, or a basket. Think about the style and decoration of the flowers before you begin. You may also try to outline the edible bucket design and its personalized elements in advance on a piece of paper.

We will begin with making candy decorated flower center. The flower design that we will choose for the first try will be a classical petal structure like those of daisies. Besides, daisies convey a sense of summer joy and purity. Still their white petals will go perfectly with any color of the candy center piece.

To proceed make sure you have all the necessary materials and tools. The list of what you need will include: candies, wire (preferably floral, green), scissors or wire cutters, foam (floral), tape, construction paper; vase, glass, or a basket. For a more exquisite design you may also add flower moss, marbles, and ribbon.

Instruction. How to Make Candy Flowers for Candy Bouquets

Step 1. Cut the green floral wire pieces to your desired length, for example have them 12in long or shorter. You will need about 5-6 hard candies for one flower.

Step 2. The candies will be the petals and the central part of the flowers. Using the floral tape (preferably the green one) attach the candies to the wire by wrapping one twisted candy end to it. When attaching the candies one will be about 0.5in under the other and this way a flower will be formed.

Step 3. Make the leaves. Cut the leaves out of the construction paper and using the same tape attach them to the stems (wire). Tip: to make a simple oval leaves look more natural make it slightly bending. For this you will need to take the oval leaf in one hand and, press and rub a pencil (or a pen) rib along the paper with the other. You will see the paper bend.

Step 4. You may put the candy flowers as they are in a vase or a glass. If you are using a basket you will need to fill it with the floral foam so that the wire stems will be attached to the bottom. Note: You may need about a dozen of flowers if you intend them for the basket.

Step 5. Now you will need to veil the foam and give a final touch to the bouquet. Add the moss or marbles (or both) to the basket when all flowers are already in it. It will add an aesthetic look to the flower basket. If you use a vase, the final touch may be adding also a ribbon.

The instruction above was about making candy flowers together with the petals. The second technique will include candies basically for flower central part whereas the petals will be made of paper. To this candy flower bouquet we will add a couple of candy mimosa. For the latter you will need a dozen of yellow butterscotch hard candies.

Instruction:

To the things you needed above just add white satin for the flower petals, yellow construction paper for the central part, and glue. Make sure you have enough candies.

Step 1. Prepare the container, be it a vase, glass, or a flower basket.

Step 2. Cut the stem wire to your desired length, say 12in.

Step 3. Draw and cut circles for the flower central parts. Make them as big (or small) and as many as you like. Later the petals will be glued to the circles.

Step 4. Also make a smaller hole in each paper circle.

Step 4. Now cut satin strips for the flower petals.

Step 5. You may either glue satin ends together to the reverse side of the circle or have the petals long as they are. When you are done with the petals put them aside till glue dries through.

Step 6. Tightly adjust one end of the candy wrapper to the wire using the tape. The candy will be added as a floral center.

Step 7. Insert the wire with the candy into the hole in the circle with glued petals. You will see the flower formed. Repeat with the rest of your paper buds.

Mimosa type candy flowers

To make a mimosa, fix a yellow candy by one wrapper end to the top of the wire stem using the tape. Proceed with other candies fixing one candy under the other. You may have only 5 candies per stem.

When you are done with the flowers insert them in the vase and decorate with marbles, moss, and a ribbon. If the bouquet is intended as a present add a personalized card to it.
