Don’t worry; the idea is not as hardcore as you think. But first, be sure not to miss having your cupcakes baked as per package’s directions. All you need are frosting, a little bit of chocolate, candies and marshmallows, some pretzel sticks, piping cone and there you’ll end up with a yummy cupcake jungle! Get surprised as your children would roar for more of these yummy animal cupcakes!

----

Lion Cupcakes

What you Need:

Orange frosting

Lighter orange frosting (Combination of orange frosting with vanilla frosting)

Chocolate frosting

Chocolate candies

Caramel popcorns

Cheerios

Pretzel sticks

Pastry bag

How to do it:

Frost some orange frosting at the top of your cupcake. Smooth the orange frosting with a frosting pallet or with a spatula. Using a pastry bag (or you could use a freezer bag as alternative) with a tiny tip, pipe the low-center portion of the cupcake top with lighter orange color (Note: The area occupied by the light orange part must be large enough to cater space for the mouth and the nose). Smooth the piped portion afterwards.

For the lion’s mane, you may use caramel popcorn and position it around the edges of the face. The cheerios must serve as the ears of the lion, so it is preferable to have it somewhat orange or pink. Use chocolate candies for the eyes and have the whiskers with pretzel sticks. Finally, pipe the mouth and nose of the lion at the light orange part of the cupcake. It is preferable to use pastry cone (parchment or wax paper could be an alternative) for the minute details. To make piping easier, pipe the nose and lips of the lion as if you’re drawing an anchor.

Tiger Cupcakes

What you Need:

Orange frosting

Light orange frosting (Orange frosting mixed with vanilla frosting)

Orange candies

Chocolate frosting

Chocolate candies

How to do it:

Do the same procedures as with the lion’s design. Frost and smooth the top with the orange frosting, followed by the light orange icing at the lower center part for the mouth and nose. For the ears, you substitute the cheerios with orange candies. Instead of a mane, we will be using tiger stripes. To be able to do this, you have to make triangular or arrow-like shapes from the head to the sides edges of the cupcake, then pipe them afterwards.

Position and pipe the chocolate candies and the chocolate frosting respectively for the eyes and nose and mouth of the tiger.

Zebra Cupcakes

What you Need:

Vanilla frosting

Cookies

Chocolate frosting

How to do it:

The first thing to do here is to have the cupcake a portion for the zebra’s muzzle. To be able to do this, we need to cut out an opening at the cupcake’s head. Put some frosting at the edge of the cookie and insert it into the opening, elongating the top portion. The frosting at the edge of the cookie would serve as the glue of the cookie to the opening. The protruding portion of the cookie would serve as the zebra’s muzzle.

Spread the vanilla frosting at the top of the cupcake except for the muzzle part. For the muzzle part, spread and smooth a portion of your chocolate frosting. For the zebra stripes, use a pastry cone filled with chocolate frosting. The technique for the stripes would be holding the cone in place while releasing the pressure so that it makes a point. Pipe some hairs of the zebra using the former.

Cut some chocolate candies into half for the ears, eyes and the nose. Put the nose sideways at the muzzle.

Monkey Cupcakes

What you Need:

Chocolate frosting

Light chocolate frosting (Mixed chocolate and vanilla frosting)

Mini marshmallows

Chocolate covered mints

How to do it:

Frost and smooth cupcake’s top with chocolate frosting. Then pipe in a circle of light chocolate frosting at the lower portion of the cupcake, touching the bottom edge of the cupcake. Next, position the mini marshmallows as the eyes of the monkey. Put a little dot of frosting at the center of the mallows; these dots would serve as glue for the chocolate candies.

For the ears of the monkey, simply place chocolate-coated mints at the side edge of the cupcake. Pipe a little hair at the top using chocolate frosting. Make some dot for the nose and a smile at the lighter chocolate portion of the cupcake.
