How to Decorate a Birthday Table
65Have you ever the term less is more? Well, many people say that less is more when it comes to decorating a birthday table especially if the birthday celebrant is a child and your event is not a formal one. In a children’s party, the table needs to be quite clean and not messy (though it is bound to get messy during the party) because the birthday table is the place where most guests would stay and have their little chats while their kids are playing.
Having said that your birthday table should not be fancy and that less is more does not mean it should be plain and boring. Remember that it is a kid’s birthday party, so boring and plain things are not allowed. But do not worry for we will learn how to decorate a birthday table cleverly.
First, get the things listed here:
· Table cover (for protection)
· Tablecloth
· Streamers
· Scissors
· Snacks
· Double sided tape
· Ribbon
· A centerpiece (birthday cake or anything you want)
· Party plates
· Plastic cups napkins
· Plastic utensils
· Balloons
Note: As you notice, most of the things needed are plastic. This is to avoid the breaking of China and other glass items that you might decide on using. This is a kid’s party so use plastic item to avoid accidental breakage.
Instructions:
Step 1: Cover the table with the protective covering so that you would not have to worry about the table getting damaged or anything. Place a protective cover over the table first before placing another more festive tablecloth on top of the protective cover. Make sure that you cover it well and even.
Step 2: Put a more festive mood in the house to make the party more fun and exciting. Use the light fixture above the table as a base where you can hook your streamers. String it to the edge of the room.
Step 3: If the light from the light fixture above the table is quite strong and more than sufficient, you can hang up a few balloons there. Balloons are always welcome in a kid’s party. You know, kids enjoy bouncing balloons, throwing them on air, throwing them to another person, and especially just playing with them. Blow up some balloons and use the ribbons to tie them up to the light fixture. Make sure only to hang them high enough.
Step 4: Scatter some amounts of confetti all over the table. Make sure that the colors of the confetti match that of the theme of the party.
Step 5: Put the centerpiece in the center of the table. Also, it would be better if you have two more extra centerpieces (quite smaller than the one in the middle) to put onto both ends of the table. In this way, your table would look balance and more full and festive.
Step 6: Put the party plate and the plastic cups on the table. Make sure to place them in front of each chair. Also, place the plates around 1 inch away from the edge and the plastic cups on the northeast side of the plates.
Step 6: Place some napkins on each plate and enjoy the party.
